# About me

## Who am I?

Hello! I'm Jamie, I previously studied CompSci at Brown University with a focus on security and AI. 

:satellite:I previously interned at SpaceX developing low latency satellite metrics in C++ and Kafka for the Topology Team. 

:computer: Throughout highschool and college I also worked part-time as a programmer and IT consultant for Humblemonkey LLC conducting penetration tests, reporting, and remediation for clients. 

:printer: I also co-founded TopoPrints LLC, with the goal of developing an FDM 3D printer with an integrated recycling solution. That project is on a hiatus at the moment, however, if you're interested in the process, check out our work [here](broken://pages/tfq3llPxrky5rP8oEaCH). 

:lab\_coat: From Sophomore to Senior year of college, I worked with the Secure Systems Lab (SSL) at Brown on systems security, specifically control-flow integrity solutions. I primarily helped revamp a CFI feature dubbed [NOPoutNG](https://cs.brown.edu/people/vpk/papers/nopoutng.cset25.pdf), that builds upon my mentor's work, [FineIBT](https://arxiv.org/pdf/2303.16353). 

> NOPoutNG as a collection of minor modifications to
>  the LLVM toolchain, as well as a load-time shared library, and demonstrate its practicality and security via a comprehensive evaluation where it achieves up to 86% endbr reduction vs. vanilla IBT with minimal overhead.

:money\_with\_wings:More recently I worked at Coinbase fulltime as a software engineer on Base before moving to our Institutional platform developing our equities and stocks trading platform.  

## Why does this blog exist?

Sometimes it's difficult to see how far you've come without documenting the changes and what you've learned along the way. This blog serves as a window into my path and my only regret was not having started this sooner!
